When I think of them, still now I cry
A show freely inspired by Art Spiegelman’s Maus. Result of Sophie Delauriers’ creative research project at UQAM. It focuses on the relationship between graphic novels and puppet theatre, two creative forms whose narrative structures can be nourished to bring out powerful scenic images. Certain characteristics inherent to graphic novels, such as frames and access to the characters’ thoughts, as well as their animal forms, are adapted to the stage to convey the personal history of the author and also that of the Holocaust.
Premiered on May 21, 2015 at UQAM, Montréal
