Filastine & Nova create socially and politically engaged music without borders, deftly combining contemporary Indonesian melodies with the bass-heavy rhythms of trap and left-field electronica. Repurposing the name of an obscure racist medical diagnosis used for slaves who wished to flee, Drapetomania is an audiovisual performance that encourages us to escape the conceptual prison of the anthropocene and the terrible consequences of climate change, using video, dance, spoken word and their otherworldly music.
